What’s your husband's name and how did you meet?

His name is Jeff (Schubert) and we actually grew up together! We were high school sweethearts who parted ways after college when our jobs took us to opposite sides of the country- mine took me to a firm in NYC and his all the way out to the Pacific Northwest in Washington State. Several years later, we bumped into each other back in our hometown and the rest is history!

How long have you been together and how did he propose?

We dated throughout high school and college for about 6 years. It has been about 2.5 years since we have gotten back together. We were on a trip to Alaska and hiked up to Exit Glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park. We were right in front of the glacier and of course, I wanted a photo. Being the only ones up there, I propped the camera on a rock and set the timer. He hit the timer and ran over to me. I saw him on one knee and thought he tripped on the rocks. "Did you just roll your ankle?" He looked up at me, laughed and said "You know how much I love you and I can't let you ever get away again."

What is the most amazing thing about your man?

I know everyone says this, but truly the way he makes me laugh. He is the life of the party, whether or not there is a party! No matter what, he lifts me up and makes me the best version of myself.

How would you describe your wedding in one word?

Dreamy!!

What is your favourite memory from your wedding?

My favourite memory of the day was when we were at a lake with the photographer taking photos. We were there with our dog, Lola, sitting on the rocks taking a break from the professional shots and just letting her play in the water. This is one of those things that we do on a regular basis with Lola so it was such a nice time out from the day to just hang out and be our little family in our element. Not to mention, the photographer got some incredible candid photos from this!

Is there anything you would change?

Not a thing. We were so relaxed, the day was so nicely paced, and we laughed our way through the entire day. Pure perfection!

Where was your wedding located? What made you choose this location?

It was in Banff National Park. When Jeff and I decided to give things a go again and see where it took us, I was living in Chicago and he was living in WA state still. I came out to WA to visit and we took a road trip up to Banff. It was in Banff that we realized we were still the same old kids who fell in love way back when. It only made sense to go back to where we both realized that together forever would be in our future.

Any advice for our brides-to-be?

Don't get so caught up in the details of your wedding that you forget to enjoy the special moments. Carve out time at some point during the day to be alone with your new husband, whether it be just taking a quick ride alone, taking photos alone, or even just sitting and sharing a cocktail in a private room. A time out to pause, remember what the day is about, and laugh together will make all the difference!

You're a wife now! How does it feel to finally tie the knot?

It feels.. normal. And so right. It feels like we finally did the damn thing that we always said we would back when we were 16 year old kids!

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

Bali! We spent some time in a treehouse outside of Ubud, then headed out to Nusa Penida, and finally lived the resort life in Jimbaran.

How was your experience as a Forever Soles bride?

Wonderful. I was on a search for comfort paired with simple elegance- and I got just that. The shoes and clutch paired perfectly with my dress and felt like walking on a cloud from start to finish of the day. We even took a little hike in them to get to one of our photo locations! I loved the barefoot shoe accent with the heel to give it a unique flare- I saw this on Forever Soles Instagram with another set and knew I had to re-create that look.
