Stephanie & Samuel

How did you meet?

We met at a Toronto Raptors game. We had been invited by friends of ours (who were dating at the time) – she invited all her girlfriends, and he, all his guy friends.

What is the most amazing thing about your man?

I couldn’t possibly pick one. He is thoughtful and caring, intelligent and goofy - an old soul some would say. He challenges me, teaches me new things, and loves adventure as much as I do! But, most of all, he spends every day making sure that I know that he loves me “more than yesterday!”

How long have you been together and how did he propose?

We’ve been together for three and half years.

Sam proposed to me over Thanksgiving weekend at my family cottage on the wedding dock (where my parents had been married) with our families watching from the window with binoculars and champagne.

Describe your wedding in one word

Intimate

What is your favourite memory from your wedding?

Long Answer: The whole day was beyond my wildest dreams. We had originally planned a wedding of 250 people, but the world had other plans for us, and in the end, it was PERFECT. I think we were on plan X by the time the wedding happened, just so much back and forth on the gathering sizes and restrictions surrounding Covid. But Love Always Prevails! We had 41 guests in attendance (immediate family, grandparents & closest friends), an outdoor ceremony, and even had all of our guests tested for Covid beforehand. It was definitely not what we originally planned, but better than we could have ever imagined.

Short Answer: Our surprise handwritten vows. We both sobbed listening to each other's promises and wishes for our future!

Where was your wedding located? What made you choose this location?

Our wedding took place outdoors at an old hunt club in the town where I grew up and where my father is currently the Mayor.

Any advice for other brides-to-be?

The day goes by so quickly, so don’t sweat the little stuff. No one will remember that the flowers didn’t match the invites

And enjoy and savour every single second of that day!!!

Who created your gorgeous gown?

My ceremony dress is Emmy Mae. My reception dress is Grace Loves Lace.

You're a wife now! How does it feel to finally tie the knot?

I am! Eeeee!

It feels like I am exactly where I am supposed to be!

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

Unfortunately, due to Covid, our original plans of Morocco and Turkey were put on hold. But, we did manage to escape to the mountains on a quick road trip – our minimoon!

How was your experience as a Forever Soles bride?

Wonderful! Originally, I wasn’t going to buy shoes – I had always just imagined myself barefoot on the day of my wedding. But after stumbling upon the brand, how couldn’t I buy them?! I was a little worried purchasing shoes from another continent so late in the game, especially with all the delays as a result of Covid, but Angie made the whole experience effortless.
