How did you meet your husband, Joshua?
We met the summer after I graduated high school, both of us worked at the same golf course. I was immediately infatuated with him, he was handsome, funny and sweet. Our relationship remained a friendship for the first couple months we knew each other, and it allowed us to truly get to know each other.
What is the most amazing thing about your man?
He has endless great qualities, but above all he is the most selfless man I know. He puts others' needs above his own constantly, whether friends or family.
Describe your wedding in one word:
Our wedding in one word, unpredictable. I think many brides that got married during COVID may use that word to describe their wedding! Our initial large wedding was cancelled, and we opted for a small outdoor ceremony instead. However, the day of our wedding a huge storm rolled in and torrential downpour was coming down. Lightning actually struck a tree on the venue!
What is your favourite memory from your wedding?
One of my favourite memories from the wedding was finally making it down the aisle, and joining hands with Joshua. The day we'd dreamt about for so many years finally had arrived. Another one of my favourite memories was Josh's uncle pulling me aside after the receiving line. He told me how happy it made him to see how happy Josh and I were, he said you could see how in love we were.
Where was your wedding located? What made you choose this location?
Our venue was Hillside Acres located just outside of Camrose. When I saw the venue online I immediately fell in love. It's located on a beautiful piece of land with a pondside ceremony and trees surrounding the ceremony site. I knew I wanted an outdoor, alternative style wedding venue. The venue just opened this year, and we were actually the first couple to get married there.
Who created your gorgeous gown?
My gown (Ella) was created by MadeWithLoveBridal, a bohemian bridal line from Australia. Their bohemian style wedding gowns are absolutely stunning, I knew I had to wear that brand.
You're a wife now! How does it feel to finally tie the knot?
I love being married, it's everything I've dreamt of and more. Waking up to my best friend every morning is the best way to start the day.
Where did you go on your honeymoon?
We went to Canmore, Alberta for a mini-moon, as we hope to have our international honeymoon next year if borders open up! We spent the week hiking, camping and exploring the Rocky Mountains.
How was your experience as a Forever Soles bride?
My experience as a Forever Soles Bride was fantastic. I knew that I didn't want a "classic" bridal shoe, and finding a unique bridal shoe line was very difficult. Also, I'm almost 6 feet tall so I wanted to find a cute flat. As soon as I saw the Our World Flat I knew it was the perfect sandal to complete my look.
